BeTalk fibre powered phoneline

What is BeTalk?

BeTalk fibre powered phone line is our 21st century answer to the copper landline. Our new fibre powered phone line offers crystal clear calls via your BeFibre internet connection, future proofing your landline giving you fibre powered digital phone calls for just £10 per month.

How it all works- VoIP explained

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), also known as IP telephony, is a way to send and receive voice calls over the internet. VoIP converts analogue voice signals into digital data packets that can be transmitted over IP networks. This enables you to make and receive phone calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of a traditional copper telephone line.

What kind of equipment do I need?

Setting up your BeTalk fibre powered phone line is simple. We supply our BeTalk phone adapter* which plugs into your BeFibre router and the mains and all you need is your home phone and in some cases a BT to RJ11 adapter. No technical expertise required. The BeTalk phone adapter will work with any home phone, future proofing your home phone service.

The benefits

  • Powered by BeFibre's high-speed full fibre broadband, BeTalk provides crystal clear voice quality.
  • Keep your existing phone and phone number, in most cases, for free.
  • Features like caller ID, and voicemail are included for no extra charge.
  • No need to worry about copper phone lines, BeTalk is all digital and all powered by BeFibre’s high-speed full fibre network
  • You can use your BeTalk service for calls to all UK landline and mobile numbers, all UK Emergency Services and UK Freephone numbers.

Things to be aware of

  • Your BeTalk plan does not include international or premium-rate numbers. However you can call 0843, 0844, 0845 and 087 numbers, these are chargeable at the rates shown here https://www.be-fibre.co.uk/legal/price-guide/
  • Your BeTalk service depends on a working broadband connection and electricity to power the phone adapter and will not work in the event of a power or network outage - we would always suggest another method, such as a mobile phone  to have as a back up in case of an emergency. With this in mind, if you have a healthcare or medical alarm, you will need to check with your alarm provider that it will work with your internet connection.

Want to keep your old number?

Want to keep your current phone number? We can bring your number from most landline providers, follow the steps in the checkout, and we’ll transfer your current phone number.

*Please note this MUST be completed whilst placing your order, it cannot be done at a later date*

During the porting process, or if we can’t port your number, you’ll get a brand new BeTalk number so you’ll be able to use your BeTalk service straight away. Phone porting takes roughly 12 working days from the date your BeTalk service is setup by us. When porting is complete, we’ll contact you via email. While the port is in progress, please don’t cancel with your current provider before we have notified you; otherwise, you might lose your original number.

Will I enter into a new contract if I'm an existing customer?

If you have been in contract for 3 months or less you can add on BeTalk without re contracting with us. Your BeTalk fibre powered phone line will run for the same length as your broadband contract. If you are an existing customer who has been with us for longer than 3 months you will need to contact us to set up a new contract that includes BeTalk.

What if I change my mind?

That’s no problem at all, BeTalk is also covered by our 14 day cooling off period, just call our Customer Support team on 0330 088 83 83 if you have any questions at all.
