Getting to know your BeHub

At BeFibre, we pride ourselves in providing the latest fibre broadband technology, and that needs a great router to make the most of it – lets have a deep dive into the new BeHub

The BeHub is a Heights router that supports the latest Wi-Fi® 6 (802.11ax) standard and easy mesh to deliver fantastic wireless speeds (these are dependant on the device being connected, and other factors like distance and how your home is built) and also supports multiple wired connections of up to 2.5Gbps.

Useful information

  • USB ports (one is USB 2.0, one is USB 3.0 for total compatibility)

Network Storage (NAS): You can connect a USB flash drive or external hard drive to the router, turning it into a network-attached storage (NAS) device. This allows you to share and access files across your network.

Printer Sharing: If you have a USB printer, you can plug it into the router, enabling all devices on the network to print wirelessly without needing to connect directly to the printer.

Firmware and Backup Management: The USB port can also be used for router firmware updates or storing configuration backups.

  • Gigabit LAN Ports – Connect ethernet cables to these Gigabit ethernet (3 are 1000Mbps ports and one is 2.5Gbps) and to other wired devices on your network. (If you’re setting up BeBoost mesh routers, use one of these ports to complete the setup)
  • Phone Lines – Use one of these for BeTalk (can be used with the adapter in the box if needed, for more information or to add BeTalk just call our Customer Support team) 
  • 2.5 Gigabit WAN port – Connect an ethernet cable from your ONT to this port, the BeHub can support speed of up to 2.3Gbps
  • Power jack – Connect the included AC power adapter to this port.
  • Reset button – Press and hold until the LED goes out, then release. The LED will then flash blue, then red, then once its a solid white the BeHub is reset
  • Power switch – press to turn your BeHub on

 

Setting up your BeHub

Setting up your BeHub for the first time is easy. Just follow the below simple steps and you'll be up and running in no time!

 

Step 1- Place your BeHub router near your internet connected modem

Step 2- Connect the LAN cable to your modem and to the port labelled WAN on the router

Step 3- Connect the supplied power adapter to the router and power outlet.

Step 4- Turn on the router by pressing the power button and wait approximately one  minute until the router finishes the initial start up.

Step 5- When the LED light on the front of the device turns white, the router is connected to the internet and you can start using the the internet. 

 

* The default Wi-Fi network name and password appear on the label on the back of the device.

 

Other than plugging in the power and the ethernet cable, the lights on your BeHub tell you everything you need to know. You can also change the wireless details and access the router settings if needed, just follow the instruction on the label on your BeHub to access and change these settings (or setup guest Wi-Fi access) from your connected laptop, desktop or mobile device:-

  • To access the routers management interface – enter 192.168.50.1 into any smart phone/tablet that’s connected to your home network
  • Password is the last 6 digits of the routers serial number (printed on the back of your router)
